Our heroes rushed off the stage. They hoped that they could catch a word with Macy before she left. They were stopped at the backstage entrance by a band of tough-looking security guards.
"You're not allowed backstage at the moment. The V.I.P meet and greet was cancelled. You two don't even have the V.I.P badges anyhow." One of the guards said.
"We're friends of Macy, we just want to talk to her." Elijah replied.
"'Friends of Macy'? Everyone says that. Now move along so there's no troub…" The guard started to say before he was interrupted.
"Now, now gentlemen. These kids are with me" said a voice coming from behind them.
It was Alan. The Champion of the Kalos Region and a close friend of Macy's.
"Yes.. Yessir. Right this way." The guard replied embarrassedly.
Alan led the kids backstage and to Macy's room. "She hoped you all would be here. She wanted to make this announcement for you." Alan announced.
"Make the announcement for us?" Ava asked curiously.
"Yes. She wants to gather the remaining Kalos Gym Badges she needs and compete against you all in the Kalos League. She made that announcement as a sort of... oh... challenge per say." Alan replied.
Surprised, our heroes, led by Alan, stood at the foot of the door to Macy's backstage room. Alan knocked gently and said, "Macy... It's Alan. I have some friends with me. Can we come in?"
There was a sound a quiet sobbing coming from behind the door. It was quickly dismissed and footsteps were heard heading to the door. The doorknob turned and the door opened revealing Macy with red eyes. It was evident she was emotional right now.
"Hey everyone... Come on in.." She said trying to wipe away her tears.
Our heroes and Alan found a seat on some of the furniture within the room. Macy sat in her dressing chair facing them. She noticed Alex, someone who she hadn't met before.
"I don't believe we have met before. I'm Macy." She said referring to Alex.
"Oh, yeah sorry. My name is Alex. I'm a big fan." Alex replied nervously.
Ava snickered quietly and said, "We met Alex shortly after we met you back in Cyllage City. He's also doing the Kalos League Challenge with us."
Macy smiled. She seemed to be cheering up.
"So Alan mentioned something about you making that announcement for us?" Elijah asked Macy curiously.
Macy cleared her throat, "Yeah... I want to participate in the Kalos League and battle with other incredible trainers. I love Showcases, but my heart truly want to explore and battle with friends and rivals. And I want to battle you, Elijah. I watched you battle in the Unova League last year and it got me heated up. You may not have won, but your battling style is unlike any other. I want a taste of it myself."
Elijah grinned. "Why don't you travel with us then?"
Alex ands Ava tunred to him surprised. Alan simply sat there and smiled. He didn't want to intrude on the conversation.
Alan had met Macy when she was only a little child. He watched her interact with wild Pokemon and realized she was special. From then on, he had done nothing but support her and help groom her into the incredible trainer she is today. He was happy to see her starting friendships and rivalries and he wanted to her to travel alongside Elijah, Ava, and Alex.
Macy also hadn't seen that question coming. "Travel with you all?"
"Why not. You said yourself you wanted to battle and train alongside friends and rivals. I take we're already friends. Let's travel together since we all have the same goal: To win the Kalos League. And when we get there, I'll give you one hell of a battle." Elijah replied.
Macy's shock turned to happiness. "If that's okay with your friends, I'd love to join you all."
Alex turned to Macy, "It's alright with me." He replied.
Ava studied Macy. She really was an incredible trainer and she seem really kind and fun to be around. She wasn't quite sure what Elijah saw in her, but the more the merrier, right?
"Of course." Ava replied.
"Then it's settled," Macy stated. "I'll get my things and meet you outside."
Our heroes nodded and went to leave. Alan pulled Elijah to the side and whispered something in his ear. Elijah looked and him and nodded. They continued back on their way.
Ava had wondered what Elijah had just been told. She figured it would come out sooner or later and decided it was best not to ask.
Our heroes stood outside of the Showcase building waiting for their new traveling companion. The doors finally opened revealing Macy with a different change of apparel.
"Don't think we've ever seen you in normal clothes." Elijah said.
"Yeah well, surprise," Macy replied. "So... what are we going to do next."
"Well, we still need to challenge the Lumiose Gym to get its badge." Alex stated.
"Oh right. I already have the Lumiose Badge. I actually just got it yesterday," Macy replied. "I'll just be there to watch I guess."
And with that, our heroes set off for the Lumiose City Gym in hopes of winning their fifth Gym Badge. Will they come out victorious? Or will they walk away in defeat? You'll just have to tune in next time and find out yourself.
