Galarian Forms: Herocious (Wingull's Galarian Evolution)

by Mr.Munchlax

Herocious.jpg
Mr.Munchlax I wanted to design a new evolved form of Wingull that can only be found in the Galar region. The idea's sort of a mix between regional evolutions like Obstagoon & how some pokémon just evolve into their regional variants like Pikachu, Cubone, & (most likely) Koffing

Herocious
The Wading Pokémon
Type: Water/Dark
Ability: Intimidate/Keen Eye

"Herocious are one of the most vicious predators of the Galar region, with their biggest threats being other birds of prey such as Braviary or Corviknight. Herocious normally stand on ponds or other areas carefully observing their surroundings. Once they spot their prey, they swoop down and attack on sight. They're also not afraid to play dirty when dealing with competition, going as far as to knock other pokémon out with their legs or mercilessly peck at their eyes. They're often referred to as "Gyarados with Feathers" due to their savage natures.

Researchers believe that Herocious are the original evolved form of Wingull due to their similarities in hunting and staying perched in high places. However, after Wingull were brought over to other regions, they began to mellow down due to the lack of competition and more abundant supply of food than what was available in Galar. This more than likely caused a change in Wingull's behavior, which led to them evolving into Pelipper in other regions."

You're treating Galar like this very extreme region that only the strongest survive and that's just marvelous-

Regardless if it’s not in the UK or not, this is a great piece of art. Definitely a Pokémon I’d try and catch.

@Melody~Chan Oh really? Maybe I just got some wrong information. I was researching birds in the UK & one of the sites I looked at said they’re found in ponds, rivers, & reservoirs. I originally was planning to use a puffin, but then I found out they’re not that aggressive

Oh well, it doesn’t matter. At least I’ll know to do more research for next time. Thanks by the way!!

Interesting, see I've never seen a grey heron in the UK and I live in the UK. I'm not dismissing your facts @Mr.Munchlax I just have never seen one, maybe I just don't go out a lot. Also nice design! :3

@PrincessPika Well, I already knew that Wingull would be in the game due to the E3 Treehouse demo (all those people complaining about the T-Posing Wingull actually came in handy). Herocious is partly based on a Grey Heron though since I saw that they’re found in the UK

Yup, makes sense for something like this.
...I mean there has to be a seagull Pokemon or two native to Galar like seriously.

    Good art by the way~
