After a gruelling battle at the second gym, a friendly sailor offers to take you on a ride to the docks of Illyna's westernmost island. Traveling along the seaside trails, you realize that the weather conditions have significantly improved from the usual cloudy and misty shroud of the mainland, seeming more akin to Alola. Finally, you arrive in Kulon City, home of the Normal-type gym and its gym leader, Kirana.
Kulon City has a vastly superior weather system than the rest of Illyna, with bright, sunny skies, cool sea breezes, white sandy beaches and clear, blue waters (as opposed to rocky beaches and cold, murky, turbulent waters that is more commonplace in the region), thus, it is one of the biggest tourist destinations. As such, the city has been built to accommodate tourists and travellers and is Illyna’s resort town, each building built with a clear view of the sea and pertains a prominent seaside theme throughout. Some might call it Little Alola – Kirana’s home region – with surf and swim shops, hotels/motels, spas, bars and restaurants everywhere you turn. It’s the place to be when you’re stressed and looking for a change of pace!
Kulon Gym is certainly one of the landmarks of the city, as it also serves as a cultural centre where plays, music, dance performances, and art exhibitions are often held! Thus, the main hall is open and spacious for this reason. On the far walls branching off from the main hall, however, are 3 separate corridors leading to the Gym’s permanent exhibitions, which showcases the lore and stories of the three legendary Pokemon that are said to reside in Illyna; Gallahaunt, Reglasis, and Lochmoura. Challengers must go through each exhibition and complete their stories by battling the trainers inside. In Gallahaunt’s Corridor, you must retrieve Gallahaunt’s severed head from one of the trainers and replace it on his statue. In Lochmoura’s Corridor, you must “protect” Lochmoura from dark spirits trying to harm her. In Reglasis’ Corridor, you must seal Reglasis and his minions away in his ice fortress. Once you have completed these tasks, someone will ask you questions about the 3 stories you have completed, and once you answer successfully, you will be taken upstairs to the dance studio where Kirana is waiting.
The team she sends out is:
1. Cinta, her sweet and loving Blissey
2. Girang, her shy and gentle Girafarig
3. Raden, her proud and regal Toucannon
4. Bola, her lazy and gluttonous Snorlax
5. Chocola, her happy, bouncy Lopunny and her very best friend [Mega]
Now, Kirana and her team may not seem very intimidating. However, beneath her sweet and gentle attitude is a determined woman who will not go down without a fight. She prefers to play defence, relying on her Pokemon’s high HP and Defense to wear out her opponents to the point of exhaustion and then dealing the final blow. Kirana favours healing and support moves that set up future advances and keep her Pokemon going that one round longer. Battles with Kirana can last hours, with defeat often stemming from the opponent Pokemon’s exhaustion or the trainer’s impatience. She takes her time to study her opponent’s habits and patterns, and once she sees a crack in their defence, she hits hard with the payoff of her setups, buffed attacks and defence. However, if you manage to outlast her and overcome her defences, Kirana will reward you with the Harmony Badge and the TM Return.
As you are about to leave, however, Kirana warns you that the journey only gets harder from here, and that you might find the next gym especially challenging. Elias tends to get protective of her, and he won't be very happy to find out she'd lost!

Debuting my lovely Kirana! Her outfit is basically a kebaya, which is the traditional clothing in Java, Indonesia. Ideally, she would be from an Indonesian-based region, but considering there isn't one, Alola will have to do.

It's a shame I lack the artistic talent to help with the art (past the map I'm working on) but hearing that you're excited for the Lore makes me excited to reveal it ^_^ You're right that it's an allusion to the Legendaries, but to know what their stories are and the wider lore of Illyna as a whole...you'll have to wait and see

And yes, Kirana is full of surprises! She's got layers. Like a cake, not an onion.

@Merciless Medic I'm with Vergil on this! We've been dying to share our ideas with people (maybe even making an RP for it, but, considering those don't tend to last for very long, we weren't quite sure, and we didn't just want to drop the idea just like that) but having a story written about it so much more exciting! I've never done anything like that before, so, definitely on board!
